Awesome U.S.A.!

I had a feeling that I wouldn't be able to sleep after watching the men's 4x100 free relay in last night's Olympic competition. And I was so right.

If you didn't see the race, you missed out on one of the best relay races in swimming history. Jason Lezak -- just one year younger than I -- is my hero. He was smokin' fast. All four guys did an awesome job, and the French got what they deserved after trash-talking the Americans!

The swimming competition has been exciting all around. I felt for Katie Hoff when she was out-touched after an incredible 400 free. Brendan Hansen looks as if he's having an off-year, which no one wants in an Olympic year. I can't wait to see the 100 backstroke tonight.

Yes, my hubby and I are total swimming nerds during such an event. We're glued to our TVs every night, turning up the volume when swimming comes on. We've even been known to rewind and watch a race a couple of times, or use it as a "teaching opportunity" for our kids. (Brendan has declared he wants to go to the Olympics and is an awe of Michael Phelps. He's also intrigued by the divers, studying their every move. Ryan has tried out some of the gymnastics moves as well.)

Go U.S.A.!
