A visit with Pat

Last week, we had a special visit from our dear friend, Pat. He and Ken have known each other since childhood. Unfortunately, he was here for his aunt's funeral. She had been ill for awhile. He was able to stay a few extra days to visit us and bond with his godson, Ryan.

During his visit, we re-introduced him to downtown Plymouth. Friday, we went to Kellogg Park for Music in the Park. Every Friday in the summer, we order pizza from Compari's, an Italian restaurant on the square, and have a picnic while waiting for the concert to begin. Usually, we indulge in an ice cream treat, too. Pat enjoyed the evening. Afterward, he and Ken stayed downtown and enjoyed a night out.

Pat, Ryan, and Brendan hang out at Music in the Park in downtown Plymouth.

Brendan and Ryan love running circles around the flagpole at the park.

Kelsey and I relax at the park. Kelsey finds the concerts very relaxing. There's lots of noise and she can gaze at the trees above.

Kelsey at the park. She's six weeks old here.

Saturday we headed to the pool early, with beautiful weather finally arriving. (It had been either cool and rainy or hot and windy all week.) Pat sat poolside and talked with us about his family's plans in San Antonio.

Cool dudes: Pat and Ryan shared Air Heads (a candy) at the pool.

We're hoping to see Pat and his family in August, when they visit Dayton, Ohio. We'd like to drive down and hit King's Island while also seeing them. King's Island brings back fond memories for Ken and Pat, so they can walk down memory lane as the kids experience their first amusement park.
